Level 3: Lookups Exercise 27 of 50 Pro

Shipping rate by weight band

A Google Sheets formula exercise from Sheetsdrill. Solve it with a formula bar on a live sheet in your browser, and it is checked the moment you submit.

The task

The table in D:E lists the weight where each shipping band starts. Return the rate for the package weight in B1 with an approximate VLOOKUP. Answer in B2.

What this exercise teaches

Approximate match is the right tool for bands and brackets, as long as the first column is sorted from small to large.

A hint if you get stuck

With TRUE as the last argument, VLOOKUP finds the largest band start that is not bigger than the weight.

Functions used: VLOOKUP
