The task
Some respondents typed a score, others typed "n/a" or "skip". In E1 count every response that was entered. In E2 count only the numeric scores.
What this exercise teaches
COUNT and COUNTA look alike but answer different questions. Mixing them up is a common source of wrong response rates.

COUNTA counts every cell that is not empty. COUNT counts only numbers.
