Distinct products in a region
A Google Sheets formula exercise from Sheetsdrill. Solve it with a formula bar on a live sheet in your browser, and it is checked the moment you submit.
The task
How many different products were sold in the region in F1? Filter the product column by region, take the unique values and count them. Answer in F2.
What this exercise teaches
Array functions chain: the list one function returns becomes the input of the next. Counting UNIQUE of the whole column would ignore the region, and COUNTIFS cannot count distinct values at all.
A hint if you get stuck
Work from the inside out: FILTER(B2:B11, A2:A11=F1) gives the products sold there, UNIQUE removes repeats, COUNTA counts what is left.
