Renewal date with EDATE
A Google Sheets formula exercise from Sheetsdrill. Solve it with a formula bar on a live sheet in your browser, and it is checked the moment you submit.
The task
A contract renews the given number of months after its start date, on the same day of the month where that day exists. Fill C2 and C3 using EDATE.
What this exercise teaches
Adding 30 days drifts over a year, and DATE(year, month + n, day) overflows January 31 plus one month into March. EDATE clips to the last day of the target month, so January 31 plus one month is the end of February.
A hint if you get stuck
EDATE(start date, months) moves forward that many whole months. The number of months is in column B.
