Orders placed at the weekend
A Google Sheets formula exercise from Sheetsdrill. Solve it with a formula bar on a live sheet in your browser, and it is checked the moment you submit.
The task
Count the orders that came in on a Saturday or Sunday. Use WEEKDAY inside SUMPRODUCT so it runs on every date at once. Answer in E1.
What this exercise teaches
With type 2, the weekend is simply "greater than 5", one test instead of two. SUMPRODUCT evaluates its arguments as arrays, so WEEKDAY runs on every date without ARRAYFORMULA.
A hint if you get stuck
WEEKDAY(date, 2) numbers the days Monday 1 to Sunday 7, so a weekend is a value above 5. Multiply the TRUE/FALSE result by 1 and SUMPRODUCT adds it up.
